Find a New Best Friend

We update the list of available dogs as adoptions occur and as new dogs arrive, so please keep checking for the latest information.  All dogs listed below are still available unless otherwise noted.  If you would like to adopt from CCLRR, please go to the Adopt page to read about our adoption process. All dogs are tested prior to entering our program, however you will want to introduce your dog before adopting. Shelters do not test with cats and not all foster homes have cats so if a bio does not specifically say "Cat Friendly," we do not know and a proper introduction is recommended. Please check our Courtesy Postings as well!

Nala #2
Yellow Female
1-2 Years
Nala #2 06-12-25 (1).jpg

Nala is a beautiful, sweet 1-2 year female, about 56 pounds, who was picked up as a stray in Lodi. Her trainer says she is calm and friendly to humans and can be timid at first with new dog friends. Nala is learning basic obedience and has great recall along with solid sit, wait and look.

She has wonderful house manners and can be left alone for several hours inside or out with no worries. Nala will sleep in a crate all night as long as she gets a loaded treat toy and great rock n roll music at bedtime… she is a fan of Creedence and Allman Brothers which we play on bluetooth speaker for her.

Nala is athletic with lots of puppy energy and likes to have physical contact with her humans! She frequently walks around with a stuffy toy or bone in her mouth which is a great way for her to learn to reduce the mouthiness typical with the lab breed. She will do best in a family with older kids and no cats. All in all, Nala is a gorgeous yellow girl who will thrive in a loving family. Contact Carolyn 916-768-7737.

Nesta 07-04-25 (2)_edited.jpg

Meet Miss Nesta. She has the wonderful demeanor of a Lab, the coloring and coat of a Border Collie, but uncertain which breed her legs come from. She weighs about 60 pounds. She came from the Stanislaus Shelter, so not much is known about her history. She is amazing with other dogs. She ignores my bird. She is a dream on a leash. We have a little wading pool in the back yard that she loves to hop into and play. Her indoor manners are perfect, no counter surfing, getting into garbage, or bathroom accidents. She is quite bright and learned how to use the dog door her first day with us. We are working on training, and she is treat motivated. She is a very chill girl, never in your face but always willing to play. She sleeps in a crate at night, which she isn't thrilled with, but she's quiet when in there. She is not much of a barker at all. She has met some children on walks and she is always very gentle with them. If you're looking for a chill but playful and loving dog, come and meet Nesta. Contact Cathy 925-303-0509

💗Loves people
🙀Cats unknown
From Stanislaus Shelter/stray

Looking for a happy young boy, then Earl is the pup for you. Earl is a lab mix, we estimate between 2-3 years old and on the smaller side, weighing around 45 lbs, so easy to take anywhere. He came to CCLRR from a challenging environment, but has been thriving in his foster home. He is sweet, loves attention, playing with you and his toys. He is a little shy and anxious with new people, but once introduced, he warms up and relaxes. He gets along great with his foster brother and is learning a lot each day. Earl's crate is his special place to rest and relax and he just puts himself there when he needs a break. He is fully housebroken and uses a dog door to go out on his own. He is still a young guy and will need to continue his training, but since he is food driven, it helps a lot. He knows to sit, down and we are working on off and off leash commands. If you are looking for a happy, energetic dog who can go running with you, go on hikes and sit on your lap, then he is the one for you. Give this special boy a chance and you won't regret it. Contact Robyn 415-717-1108

Atlas
Yellow Lab Male
3 Years

🏠 House broken
🐕‍🦺 Dog friendly
🚫 No cats
From Stanislaus Shelter/stray

Meet Atlas!  Atlas is a sweet, calm male yellow lab who is approximately 3-years old. He is a tall fella, super handsome and weighs approx 78 lbs. He came from the Stanislaus County shelter as a stray, so it’s hard to know what his life has been like, but he appears to have been an outdoor dog for most of his life. He likes to go outside frequently to hang out or take naps in the sun, but is also very quickly growing accustomed to life inside the house. We are working on crate training, and it’s been slow going, but he’s starting to get the hang of it. Atlas does not get into anything in the house and will hang out for long stretches of time without incident. He is patient with being touched and allows you to groom him. He hasn't shown interest in the pool just yet but he is still settling in.

Atlas gets along great with his two female foster dogs (one large, one small). He loves to play! He has not been tested with smaller kids and needs a home with no cats. He’s been very calm with the people he’s met—no aggression at all. He does not seem to have had much training in his past, but he is smart and motivated by treats. He has learned “sit” very quickly and we discovered he responds to a whistle. He will need opportunities to continue to learn to walk on a leash. Atlas is also slowly learning to fetch!

Sweet Atlas has an eye condition called entropion that will need to be fixed before he can be adopted. It's a fairly easy surgical procedure and he will feel great relief to finally have this issue corrected. Atlas is truly a loving and gentle dog and with additional training, he has the potential to be an outstanding, wonderful addition to any family.

Located in the Greater Sacramento area, contact Cathy 925-303-0509 to meet Atlas! He will be ready for adoption very soon after his Entropion and neuter surgeries.

Stewie
Black & Tan Lab Mix Male
4 Months
  • Crate trained

  • Good with other dogs

  • Cats unknown

  • Rides well in car

This adorable 4 month old puppy may be young, but he’s already showing off some serious smarts! Stewie is quickly picking up on basic commands like "come", “sit”, "down" and “stay”. He is crate trained, almost housebroken and is starting to master his leash walking skills. He’s very eager to please and easy to train.

We’re not really sure what he’s mixed with, but he’s going to be big! He’s super cute, cuddly and friendly. Everyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him. He is playful but incredibly calm for a puppy his age. He loves squeaky toys, balls, bones and stuffed animals and is not destructive. He’s curious but doesn’t get into things. He loves other dogs, but is respectful of the 7 year old dog in his foster home. He rides well in the car and is very good at the vet. He’s truly a diamond in the rough. Like all puppies, Stewie will need ongoing training and guidance, but his bright personality and willingness to learn make him an ideal student.

We’re looking for an adopter who is home more often than not—puppyhood is a critical time for socialization, structure, and bonding. With time, consistency, and lots of love, Stewie is going to grow into an amazing lifelong companion. 7/5/25

Rocky
Chocolate Lab Mix Male
4 Months
  • Crate trained

  • Good with other dogs

  • Good with kids

  • Cats unknown

Rocky is an adorable chocolate Lab mix, approx 4 mos old and weighs approx 20lbs. He is one of the most relaxed puppies we've ever met!  He is great with kids, dogs and loves to cuddle! Rocky is a quick learner and doing great on his potty training! With a schedule and frequent trips outside, he'll have it mastered in no time. He loves to roll around in the grass and play fetch. He knows commands like “sit”, “bed” and “potty” and almost mastered “down.” He is crate trained and goes to bed at night time with very little to no whimpering. With a gentle whimper in the morning he tells us he is ready to go out to potty and start his day. He likes to get in the pool and walk around, which is a great start to being a great swimmer. He is still a young puppy and needs continued guidance and redirection for typical  puppy mouthiness and to settle after playtime. Rocky is smart and loving and ready to learn more commands! He will be your shadow and be ready for rubs and tummy scratches anytime you’ll give them!  7/5/25

Lyndy
Yellow Female
6 Years
  • Housebroken

  • Loves to swim

  • Plays Fetch

  • Good with other dogs

  • Cats unknown

Lyndy is a 6-year old female lab. She’s an extremely sweet girl who loves to swim, so if you have a pool she’ll love you forever! She’s always ready for a walk, a ride in the car or a fun game of fetch. She retrieves AND drops the toy for you to throw it again. She walks nicely on a leash, although the ground squirrels sometimes distract her. She would love to have a dog buddy or two, preferably males. She can be pushy with females. Lyndy has no issues around food or toys. Like most labs, she likes being around her people and loves being pet. She is food motivated and takes treats gently which is a plus for training. She knows some basic commands, and catches on quickly. She is working on crate training and doing very well. Lyndy should not be left unattended outside. After continually be alone outside she learned to climb fences to go find humans. Lyndy’s house manners are great and she can be left inside. She is housebroken. Lyndy is looking for a loving home where she has people that truly care about her well being.
NEEDS: Lyndy does have some anxiety and will do better in a home where people are around more than not and are ok with helping her settle in.
