Find a New Best Friend
We update the list of available dogs as adoptions occur and as new dogs arrive, so please keep checking for the latest information. All dogs listed below are still available unless otherwise noted. If you would like to adopt from CCLRR, please go to the Adopt page to read about our adoption process. All dogs are tested prior to entering our program, however you will want to introduce your dog before adopting. Shelters do not test with cats and not all foster homes have cats so if a bio does not specifically say "Cat Friendly," we do not know and a proper introduction is recommended. Please check our Courtesy Postings as well!

Bronzie - Silver/Chocolate Female - 6 Years
Bronzie is a 6 yr old silver/chocolate female. She weighs approximately 78lbs. Bronzie has had many puppies over her life and is now looking for a relaxing home-life where it’s mostly about her! She loves to fetch and is up for a game any time. Bronzie does ok in a car. She’s really not sure about the whole thing, but we believe after a few trips to some fun destinations she’ll get the hang of it. She is housebroken, uses a dog door, loves to be petted and loves food! Bronzie could lose a few pounds. Now that she’s no longer living in a kennel, she should burn some extra calories running around whenever she wants. Bronzie knows sit, but could definitely use some help learning to walk on leash. A basic training class would be perfect for her.

Princess - Black Female - 1.5 Years
This 1.5 year old beautiful black female has the shiniest coat! She weighs approximately 78lbs and could lose a little weight. We’re working on that now that she no longer lives in a kennel and can run and play any time she wants to. Princess is timid with people. She’s not sure what you want her to do. She loves toys and is loving not having her mother take them away from her! Now when someone throws a ball, she can actually get it! Her mother used to get to the ball first and/or take any toy that was tossed to Princess. She is housebroken, knows how to use a dog door and will sleep in crate if you can lure her inside. She is not a fan of car rides, but we are hoping to change that with trips to McDonald’s for a burger (in conflict with diet, but hey it’s for the greater good and a girls got to eat. 😂) and fun outings to parks, pools and hikes. Princess needs a slow introduction to things that we think of as normal for our dogs. She really hasn't experienced much, so many things can be scary for her. Princess is a sweetheart and with love and a little time, she’ll adjust to the pleasures she should have had all along. Contact Cathy 925.303.0509

Sasha - Chocolate Female - 1.5 Years
Sasha a gorgeous 1.5 year old purebred English-style chocolate Labrador who was surrendered from local breeder who was not able to keep her anymore. If you want a classic lab personality, Sasha is your girl. Sweet, funny and cuddly, Sasha is also easy going and friendly to all dogs and people. She has not had a lot of socialization in her short life and is thrilled to be out in the world getting used to noises like rumbling trucks, leaf blowers and garage doors opening. She has learned obedience very quickly and now knows, sit, wait, break, and place. Sasha has beautiful leash manners and is a joy to walk around the neighborhood. She is athletic and loves to retrieve. She swims in the backyard pool and rides well in car. What’s special about Sasha is zero barking! She has none of the typical puppy mouthiness or chewing, plus she is crate trained where she sleeps each night. Only one downside is that Sasha is still fine-tuning her house training, so we still may have an occasional accident. All in all, Sasha is a very special girl who will be an outstanding addition to a loving family. She will do well as an only dog and can also be part of mulit-dog family. Petunia - Black Female - 10 Months
Puppy
Meet Petunia - approximately 10 month old lab mix. She is as sweet as her name. She loves pets, cuddles and toys. The Kongs are her absolute favorite. She likes to stay by your side as you are working and will snuggle up in the evening. Petunia is housebroken and is getting the hang of sit and wait. We are also working on "off" since she likes to jump up for hugs and kisses. She is good in the kitchen and knows to lay down and not jump on cabinets while her foster cooks. We've introduced her to bubbles and she has fun chasing them around. You will fall in love with this pup! Come and meet her. Contact Cathy 925.303.0509

Cotton - Yellow Male, 1 Year
Cotton is most likely an Akbash/Great Pyrenees/maybe Lab 😊 mix. Cotton is housebroken, sleeps on a dog bed, couch or your bed if you allow. He can be a big goofball but also has an independent side. He enjoys being outside and taking in his surroundings. Cotton will knock on the door when he’s done making sure everything is safe around the house and wants to come in and hang out. Cotton is very good at keeping squirrels and other critters out of the yard. His arch nemesis is a turkey that likes to sit on the other side of the fence and then fly up into the tree so Cotton can see him. Cotton LOVES people and would like nothing better than to give you a kiss although he’s learning to refrain. He is pickier with dogs. Females are his choice although he does have a few male buddies he knows from puppyhood and school (training). Cotton LOVES to play. He needs a confident playmate since he’s a big boy. He loves to be chased and to chase. He doesn't mind a good wrestle, No cats, please. Contact Cathy 925-303-0509

Rip - Black Male, 4 Months
Puppy
Rip is a cute energetic 15 week old black male puppy that will do well in a home with an active family. He weighs about 35 lbs, loves water and would like to have a home where he can swim. He loves playing with other dogs and enjoys attention from his humans. At bedtime, he goes into his crate and will sleep through the night. Rip is a rough and tumble puppy, adventuresome and daring little fellow. He would do best with kids over 6 years old as he can run circles like the latest tornado and run into you and knock down little ones. Rip is housebroken however when a pup is put in a new situation, it should be taken out frequently to become familiar with different surroundings. Raising a puppy is a commitment. To have a happy and healthy pup, it needs consistent training and regular exercise along with a lot of love.

Doug - Black Male, 2 Years
Meet Doug, a sweet, affectionate, silly and playful Black Labrador Retriever Mix, estimated to be about 2 years of age. Doug was found as a stray in Ripon and a good Samaritan took care of him until we were able to foster him. Initially confused by his new life with humans, he has learned a lot in a short time and loves being near his people. He is fully housebroken and knows how to use a dog door, knows “sit”, "down" and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. He loves belly rubs, water, chasing toys, going on walks and spending time in the backyard. He may enjoy having a dog buddy or two who will romp around with him and share some good old doggie antics. He takes treats gently, loves his naps and is a great sleeper at night (he will prefer being next to you). He will thrive with an active family that can dedicate time for daily exercise, continue his training and embrace his playful nature. Contact Simona (530) 400-1174 8/31/24

Libby - Black Female, 4 years
LIBBY is 4 years old, 80 pounds & has a very sleek, shiny coat that doesn’t shed much and looks great with almost no grooming. She is protective of her home and yard but loves everyone invited into her space. Absolutely loves people, does great at noisy parties. Excellent house manners and doesn’t chew on anything except her own toys. Will sleep in a crate but prefers to have her own dog bed. Loves car rides and seeing new places. Libby has a very gentle mouth & takes treats politely. She is respectful of your space & does not get on furniture unless asked. Does not need to be confined when home alone. Very playful & an excellent family dog. No reaction to bicycles, strollers, leaf blowers, motorcycles, vacuums, & screaming kids. Libby has a strong prey drive and will not do well with cats or caged animals. She has not been properly socialized with dogs and can be reactive to them. An easy-leader is highly recommended when walking. She will calm down around other calm dogs, but cannot be off leash or socialize with them at this point. Requirements: No other pets in the home, six-foot solid fence & a yard large enough for her to run around. Kids are great, but they should be old enough to play with a large dog. Continued training is always beneficial. Contact Cathy 925-303-0509 8/31/24
