Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue (CCLRR) was "born" in July 1998 due to the great need to find loving homes for abused, abandoned or unwanted Labrador Retrievers in the Central Valley. We are an all-volunteer organization. Our dogs are in foster homes or with their current families; we do not have a central facility or shelter. We adopt to homes north to Redding and south to Fresno, and from the S.F. Bay Area south to Monterey County. We do NOT adopt to homes in Southern California or out of state with the exception of the Reno/Tahoe area. Please see our Resources page for other California Labrador Retriever rescues.
Breaking News!
Thank you for being part of the Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue family.
We’re making tails wag and lives better, one pup at a time. 🐶💕

💛 Feather Update
Remember Feather? She came to us back in April as a stray with two broken legs. It was suspected she had been hit by a car. Our little warrior Feather is growing stronger by the day!
She got her front leg cast off and that leg is now building muscle back up as she's getting used to using it. We are hopefully on the homestretch for the back leg. We are keeping her as quiet as we can while the incision site continues to heal - it had opened up and she had a little set back with an infection a few months ago. We have graduated to weekly bandage changes and the tissue looks great and is healing beautifully. Her vet, Roseville Animal Hospital has been taking amazing care of her and we are so excited for her to be healed and adopted!!
She is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix. She is not as excitable as a typical Lab puppy but has a very fun and loving personality. She likes to gather all her toys and lay in a dog bed. She is crate trained and sharp as a tack! She is great with other dogs and she is curious about cats. She has been fostered with cats and chases for curiosity but doesn’t do anything once she can sniff them. With a proper intro, she will probably be ok with cats. If you would like to help, you can donate to her medical care. Watch for updates, and when she'll be available for adoption.

Say hello to Matilda- "Tilly" for short! 💗
Thank you to everyone who helped us choose her name. Tilly was recently rescued from Bradshaw Animal Shelter, where she arrived in rough shape after being discarded post-breeding. Despite everything she’s been through, this happy 6-7 year old sweetheart wagged her tail throughout her vet visit.
She’s now in the care of a wonderful foster and receiving the medical attention she needs. Here’s her treatment plan:
-
Medicated baths every other day
-
Daily ear wash and ointment
-
Warm compresses on her teets
-
Medications: Baytril, Cephalexin & Apoquel
Tilly’s ears and skin are severely affected- likely flea dermatitis. Her front teeth are worn, one is broken, and a few teets may be infected. With your support, Tilly’s future looks brighter every day. Without your generous donations, we would not be able to intake dogs with extensive medical needs like Tilly. Please donate if you would like to help with her care.

Remember Raider?
This was poor Raider, looking much like Tilly, when he came to us about 8 months ago suffering from horrible, itchy skin, open wounds and almost no hair.
