River Girl lives by the motto: play hard, love hard!
This bright, 54 pound, energetic girl is looking for an active family who wants a fun-loving companion by their side. River loves long walks, playing with toys in the yard, and — maybe most of all — WATER! Give this girl a pool and she is one happy pup.
After getting her morning energy out, River is happy to settle in with a chew toy while you work from home. Come evening, she’s ready for another stroll followed by her favorite activity: maximum cuddles.
River was found as a stray in Fresno and spent three months being overlooked at the Selma shelter. Eventually, she landed on the euthanasia list simply because the shelter needed space. CCLRR stepped in, and River has spent the past month in a loving foster home where she’s had time to decompress, get healthy, and show everyone what a wonderful girl she is.
River is house trained, sleeps well in her crate, and is working on her basic commands. She’s a quick learner who seems to really enjoy training sessions! She does great with other dogs and even lives happily with a cat in her foster home. She’s also wonderful with kids, although we think ages 7+ would be best, simply because an enthusiastic River might accidentally knock over a little one.
Her dream home? A nice yard, a pool to splash in, and a patient, active family ready for adventures, playtime, training, and plenty of cuddles.

Smart, adventurous and always ready for his next mission. Meet Buckeye!
Buckeye is one smart, active little guy! He’s intelligent, food motivated, has a great nose and learns quickly—making him a puppy who could be a ton of fun to train. We could even see this athletic boy trying his paws at agility someday! ️
For all that puppy energy, Buckeye also appreciates the finer things in life. Once the fun is over, he’s perfectly happy curling up for a nap on a soft blanket or the couch.
He already knows sit, no and come here, loves attention and is eager to please. He gets along well with other dogs, doesn’t mind being crated and even let his foster trim his nails easily on the very first try. Good boy, Buckeye!
Like any 3-month-old puppy, potty training is still a work in progress, but he’s already choosing the grass outside the majority of the time.
One thing to know about Buckeye: this clever boy has a bit of an escape-artist streak. Gates and playpens need to be properly secured because he may just figure out a way around them! Buckeye will need a home with room to play and a secure, fully fenced yard.
PUPPY REMINDER: Buckeye is still very much a baby! We’re looking for adopters who are ready for all the puppy things—potty training, crate training, chewing, puppy mischief, continued socialization and basic obedience. Puppies require plenty of time, patience, consistency and involvement as they grow into well-mannered adult dogs.

Fluffy, adorable and just a tiny bit of a diva. Meet Manzanita!
Manzanita is a happy-go-lucky, medium-energy puppy with a whole lot of personality packed into one ridiculously cute package. He has some gorgeous German Shepherd-like features, including a fluffy coat, tan points on his ears and legs, big puppy paws, and the cutest little white tufts on his feet and chest.
This little guy is already showing us what he likes! He didn’t mind bath time, is getting more comfortable having his paws handled and responds to “come here.” He’s also beginning to learn sit. Smart boy! ️
Manzanita can be pretty vocal when he has an opinion to share—we did mention the diva part. He’s still learning to be comfortable in his crate and, like any 3-month-old puppy, potty training is a work in progress. The good news? He’s already choosing the grass the majority of the time!
He’s great with other dogs and enjoys playing, but he’s also perfectly happy having a little Manzanita time, especially stretched out somewhere cool on a shaded patio or tile floor.

This handsome black Lab is ready to discover just how good life can be.
Finn came to us from a unique breeder situation in the Central Valley, and at just a year old, he’s experiencing many of the simple things most dogs take for granted for the very first time.
Grass? Apparently AMAZING. Finn loves laying in it, rolling around and soaking up his newfound freedom. And this boy is definitely a water dog! Kiddie pools and sprinklers are pretty hard to resist.
Finn can be skittish and reserved when he first meets someone. He needs a little time to observe, settle in and figure out that he’s safe. But give him that time and he makes friends quickly. Once you’re in his circle, expect a handsome black shadow following you everywhere.
Because Finn has had limited exposure to normal home life, his adopter should expect an adjustment period. There may be everyday sights, sounds and experiences that are completely new to him. He’ll need a patient, consistent family willing to gently show him the ropes and help build his confidence. We want his new home to have another playful dog for him to play with and since he loves the water, a home with access to a pool or lake would be a plus.
Finn is truly a diamond in the rough. Give this sweet boy a little time and polishing, and we’re confident the family willing to invest in him will discover something pretty special.

Are you looking for a personal assistant who would crawl into your soul if you’d let her? Well boy do I have a dog for you!
Zoey is a 2-3 year old full-blooded black Lab with hunting lines, major brains, and an even bigger heart. She’s whip-smart, learns fast, and is already working on leash manners, house manners (sit, down, four-on-the-floor), and learning how to settle and be calm.
When she gets excited, watch out for the happy feet — a little dance that means she’s thrilled you exist. She’s obsessed with water — think future dock diving star — and has a high prey drive, so she needs a home with no cats or small dogs. Any canine sibling should be ready to match her puppy-like energy, and she’d do best with older kids or adults.
Give Zoey a job, a fenced yard, and someone to shadow, and she’ll give you her whole heart, and lots of kisses, in return.
Zoey is looking for an active home, no cats/small animals, older kids+, and a human ready to be loved hard and outsmarted occasionally.

Meet Shasta, a sweet and sensitive 5-year-old Lab mix weighing in at a perfect 53 pounds. Shasta came to us from the Stockton shelter in rough shape. She was suffering from severe pneumonia and was also pregnant with a singleton puppy. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care, plenty of rest, and the love of her foster family, Shasta has made a remarkable recovery and is now healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life.
Shasta is a more reserved girl who takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she is happiest simply being by your side. She is very affectionate. She’s the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her person and loves being part of your daily life. She rides well in the car. She enjoys playing ball and will bring it back. She also loves stuffed toys (thought they rarely survive intact!) We knew that she liked to play in the sprinklers...now we think she may be a swimmer! More to come.
Shasta prefers sleeping on the bed with her humans and enjoys a calm, predictable environment. She is not a fan of crates and would do best with a family that understands she prefers being part of the household rather than confined away from her people.
While she may do well with some dogs, Shasta is not a social butterfly and would likely appreciate slow introductions and a home that respects her need to settle in at her own pace.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will form a deep bond and be your constant sidekick, Shasta may be your perfect match.
