Sweet, smart, and a little bit shy — meet Misty!
Misty is a bright little girl who has been picking up her training quickly. She already knows sit and touch/come and is working on down and her leash manners. She’s crate trained and doing great with it, and her potty training is coming along nicely too.
Misty had a rough start and was very sick and extremely shy when she first arrived in rescue. Thankfully, she’s feeling so much better and has blossomed into a much more outgoing and confident puppy. She can definitely hold her own with the other dogs in her foster home!
She gets along wonderfully with her foster brother Gus, a 3-year-old black Lab, and having another dog around has helped her settle in and build confidence.
Misty can still be a little shy when meeting new people and may need some time and patience to warm up. Once she knows she’s safe, her affectionate side comes shining through. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and is happiest curled up close to her people.
Misty is good with kids and other dogs; she just appreciates being given a little time to get comfortable with someone new.
Give this sweet girl the time she needs to come out of her shell, and you’ll find a smart, loving, endlessly snuggly little companion waiting for you.

Meet Apollo — incredibly smart, endlessly cuddly, and ready to be someone’s best friend!
Apollo is a bright, playful and affectionate 13-week-old Lab mix who seems to learn new things in no time. He already knows sit and come/touch, and he’s currently working on leash walking and finishing up his potty training. This boy is smart as a whip and loves showing off what he knows — especially when treats are involved!
Apollo is crate trained and sleeping through the night, and he has settled into foster life like a pro. He gets along wonderfully with his foster brother, Gus, and the two love playing together.
He’s also a social little guy who is friendly with everyone he meets — adults and kids alike. Apollo approaches the world with an open heart and simply wants to be included in whatever his people are doing. And once playtime is over? He’s more than happy to curl up for some serious cuddle time.
Apollo has all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready for puppy adventures, plenty of cuddles, and a very smart little sidekick, Apollo may be your guy!

Lucky by name. Lucky by nature. This handsome boy has found his “people” energy — now he just needs his forever couch.
Lucky came to us after living as a homeless outdoor dog in Stockton. He arrived skinny and unsure of life indoors, but within a week he was using the doggy door, sitting for dinner and playing in the backyard like he’d always belonged there.
Lucky is a friendly, playful boy who adores his foster brother, Rio. He’ll happily match that Lab energy in the yard and then crash in his crate, on the cool tile or in a shady patch of grass.
He has done wonderfully with dogs big and small, cats, kids, neighbors and even the UPS guy! Crowds can make him timid at first, but give him a minute and he warms up quickly.
Lucky knows sit and no, walks on leash and is learning wait. He uses the dog door like a pro, although his house manners are still a work in progress. Sudden loud noises can startle him, but normal household activity doesn’t faze him.
What stands out most is how quickly Lucky chose joy. He went from a street dog who didn’t know kibble to a goofy foster pup who shares treats, follows his foster brother and waits at his bowl like he belongs.
Lucky doesn’t need perfection — just a family willing to keep showing him what it means to be home.

Meet Shasta, a sweet and sensitive 5-year-old Lab mix weighing in at a perfect 53 pounds. Shasta came to us from the Stockton shelter in rough shape. She was suffering from severe pneumonia and was also pregnant with a singleton puppy. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care, plenty of rest, and the love of her foster family, Shasta has made a remarkable recovery and is now healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life.
Shasta is a more reserved girl who takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she is happiest simply being by your side. She is very affectionate. She’s the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her person and loves being part of your daily life. She rides well in the car. She enjoys playing ball and will bring it back. She also loves stuffed toys (thought they rarely survive intact!) We knew that she liked to play in the sprinklers...now we think she may be a swimmer! More to come.
Shasta prefers sleeping on the bed with her humans and enjoys a calm, predictable environment. She is not a fan of crates and would do best with a family that understands she prefers being part of the household rather than confined away from her people.
While she may do well with some dogs, Shasta is not a social butterfly and would likely appreciate slow introductions and a home that respects her need to settle in at her own pace.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will form a deep bond and be your constant sidekick, Shasta may be your perfect match.

At just 10 weeks old, Malcom is looking for a family ready to bring a puppy home now and prepared for all the cuteness AND the potty training, obedience training, teething and general puppy mischief that comes along with having a puppy in the house.

Have you always wanted a Lab but would prefer a smaller dog? Then Malcom is a perfect fit!
This little guy is pint size but full of fun. He loves to play, loves treats and loves people. Malcom was found on the streets of Stockton so we are unsure what he is mixed with. He looks like the miniature version of a yellow lab. As a small pup we are still learning, but he does great with treats as rewards and has mastered sit already. He does good with crate training and potty training is in progress.
Malcom loves everyone but would probably be best in a home with older kids as he is still learning that people are not chew toys. Malcom has met with other dogs and seems to do well and has also seen peacocks and squirrels and could really care less about them.
Malcom would do best in a home that has time for training and would make him a part of the family. He would gladly be with his family all the time. After playing hard he prefers to take a nap in your lap or right at your feet. He will follow you around the house and travel quietly in the car.

River Girl lives by the motto: play hard, love hard!
This bright, 54 pound, energetic girl is looking for an active family who wants a fun-loving companion by their side. River loves long walks, playing with toys in the yard, and — maybe most of all — WATER! Give this girl a pool and she is one happy pup.
After getting her morning energy out, River is happy to settle in with a chew toy while you work from home. Come evening, she’s ready for another stroll followed by her favorite activity: maximum cuddles.
River was found as a stray in Fresno and spent three months being overlooked at the Selma shelter. Eventually, she landed on the euthanasia list simply because the shelter needed space. CCLRR stepped in, and River has spent the past month in a loving foster home where she’s had time to decompress, get healthy, and show everyone what a wonderful girl she is.
River is house trained, sleeps well in her crate, and is working on her basic commands. She’s a quick learner who seems to really enjoy training sessions! She does great with other dogs and even lives happily with a cat in her foster home. She’s also wonderful with kids, although we think ages 7+ would be best, simply because an enthusiastic River might accidentally knock over a little one.
Her dream home? A nice yard, a pool to splash in, and a patient, active family ready for adventures, playtime, training, and plenty of cuddles.

Buckeye is one smart, active little guy! He’s intelligent, food motivated, has a great nose and learns quickly—making him a puppy who could be a ton of fun to train. We could even see this athletic boy trying his paws at agility someday! ️
For all that puppy energy, Buckeye also appreciates the finer things in life. He is very affectionate and once the fun is over, he’s perfectly happy curling up for a nap on a soft blanket or the couch.
He already knows sit, no and come here, loves attention and is eager to please. He gets along well with other dogs, doesn’t mind being crated and even let his foster trim his nails easily on the very first try. Good boy, Buckeye!
Buckeye will need a home with room to play and a secure, fully fenced yard.
PUPPY REMINDER: Buckeye is still very much a baby! We’re looking for adopters who are ready for all the puppy things—potty training, crate training, chewing, puppy mischief, continued socialization and basic obedience. Puppies require plenty of time, patience, consistency and involvement as they grow into well-mannered adult dogs.
